Dear God, I am sending You
this prayer
As I am in dismay at all the
confusion I see,
Even though there is
sunlight and budding flowers
-
The voice of the people of
America is under siege.
Our leaders are trying to
take us in a different
course -
And the sounds I hear are
not bellowing cheers,
But cries of dissent and
anger and much concern -
As most Americans are
sensing a tremendous fear.
I once was assured in my
heart that You do care -
even amid rugged roads and
often strife,
Sometimes feelings of
aloneness and despair -
Yet, You God is surly
present,
You who is the creator of
all life.
My heart aches, as I see so
much moral decay -
Wondering how long our
country's flag
will wave in the breeze.
It seems like folks now are
so very troubled -
And feel so betrayed by
those elected to lead.
As this land that is
burdened by the grip of
unrest -
embedded in our hearts for
the world to see,
That we pray at the end of
a hard worked day -
and bid Your grace, to be
able to stand tall in
victory.
This country so beloved
especially during these
times -
as it has been in days of
it's long, long past,
that freedom will continue,
as wheat is harvested -
and new wheat is sown that
will forever last.
Our soldiers stand tall
despite the odds -
for the enemy is cunning as
a deadly snake,
the snake of evil that fills
their longing to kill -
yet a spineless conscience
will lead to a dismal fate.
They made this choice to
defend our land –
to serve our country with
honor and pride,
knowing that their own
outcome perhaps -
might be to make the
ultimate sacrifice.
Each day we deal with
unknown answers -
and from each persons own
heart to understand,
that our cause is for future
generations -
who will someday carry the
torch of this great land.
There is much to be done
before tomorrows' dawn -
for today’s sunset is
hurrying it’s pace,
And in my mind, sometimes I
struggle to surmise -
"will there ever be peace
for this human race?"
Dear God, we are trying hard
to understand -
Why so many in this world
seem to be so full of hate;
Why our President mocks our
Constitution, in favor of –
turning our great nation
into a Socialistic state.
I pray dear Lord for the
sake of all who are so
distressed –
Many are angry, bitter,
confused, and so very alone,
For the notions of our
leaders seem to be bent –
On not listening to the
people,
but continue to do this wrong.
And so at the end of this
day when I lay down to sleep
–
Scared, worried, with tiring
tears escaping my eyes,
I send this prayer Lord,
this urgent plea -
And ask if you will save
our nation from this demise!
