These Eyes

These Eyes!

I contemplate the silence that lies within me
As thoughts are stirring in my mind
Sensing a void that lingers all about
As I envision a world in these days and time.

The notion that this is the reality
For never did I dream that I would see
Such turmoil, chaos, and moral decay
Especially to a country that once was so free.

Perhaps it’s just a repeat of history
But a history that I had never learned
For then my mind was too young to fathom
Such destruction of a country once so stern.

A country torn apart by power and greed
While still yet our soldiers risk their lives
With the hope of keeping our country free
But a different truth is being realized.

Law makers dishonest and uncaring
Given into the fate of evil’s claws
While innocent victims, God fearing people
Try to cope with unscrupulous laws.

So many lost and cast out to the streets
As dissent spreads rapidly across our land
People hurting and looking for answers
Praying to God so as to understand.

This reality that appears as only a dream
Many can’t deal with it, so they close it out
The uncertainties that plague each of us
Wondering just how this all came about.

So many seek comfort and pray to God
Afraid that the worse is still yet to come
Asking, “Has the end times finally begun,
When will this nightmare be over and done?”

These days and times certainly look dismal
But there is much hope for those who believe
For despite what seems to be so dreadful
God is in control, yes His eyes do see.

We must cling to the hope that lies in Jesus
For the Master will fulfill our every need
And only through faith and love in action
Will all of God’s faithful children be set free.

A far different scenario than I have ever thought
Lingers afloat like a ship on stormy seas
But these eyes of mine will not succumb
To a disastrous outcome, for in God I believe.

Our country’s leaders who deceive and lie
Will suffer the cost, which is just and right
While those who live the teaching of our Lord
Will continue to be led by His guiding light.

Hearts full of love that follow the Shepherd
Will not be scorned by this current demise
But instead will triumph together, hand in hand
As there are no tears to quench evils’ thirst . . .
There will be no tears . . .

Yes, there will be NO tears

There will be no tears that will escape these eyes!
